Just Like Anyone Lyrics
The cold night breathes into her face
The flies are standing still now
The moon it spills through the place
And she starts wondering it's like to be liked by everyone
And like everyone be just like anyone
And just wants to be so just like anyone
She reaches through the darkness
Her fingers touch the porcelain seat
She spins and pulls her pants down
The cold air holds her like a theif
She starts wondering what they mean, do they just mean to be mean
And thinking about the scene, do they just want to be seen
And trying not to seem so just like anyone
The door comes screeching open
She walks into the evening air
She disappears in the darkness
All that's left's the faint smell of her hair
She's done wondering what it's like to be liked by everyone
And like everyone be just like anyone
And just wants to be so just like anyone
And wondering what they mean, do they just mean to be mean
And thinking about the scene, do they just want to be seen
And trying not to seem so just like anyone, just like anyone, ...

she thinks about society and how she wants to be like everybody else, or maybe everybody pretends to be different for attention, and she ponders all of this while she's alone in an outhouse.

this is the best soul asylum song ever

Um what is this song about? What exactly does the girl do in the outhouse? It wasn't too clear to me.........

Outhouses huh? I don't see too many of those. Maybe she's wondering what it's like to be other people because everyone else has indoor plumbing.

This song will forever remind me of Claire Danes. Who didn't want Danes in the mid 90's?
@Foundation4life Pretty sure this song was written about Winona Ryder though, considering they were dating at the time. And who didn't want Winona Ryder at any point in time? Lol

Wow, if all she does in the outhouse is THINK then I guess I've been listening to way too much shock-rock...

she goes to the outhouse to piss or sh*t and thinks of some things at the same time

I hope you're all joking. Haven't you ever heard the saying "They shit the same way like everyone else?", in other words as badass as your hero's are, well imagine them on the toilet. It makes them human doesn't?

“Sometimes we have the absolute certainty there's something inside us that's so hideous and monstrous that if we ever search it out we won't be able to stand looking at it. But it's when we're willing to come face to face with that demon that we face the angel.”
