Angels Lyrics
does an angel contemplate my fate
and do they know
the places where we go
when we're grey and old
'cos I've been told
that salvation lets their wings unfold
so when I'm lying in my bed
thoughts running through my head
and I feel that love is dead
I'm loving angels instead
And through it all she offers me protection
a lot of love and affection
whether I'm right or wrong
and down the waterfall
wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
when I come to call she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead
and my pain walks down a one way street
I look above
and I know I'll always be blessed with love
and as the feeling grows
she breathes flesh to my bones
and when love is dead
I'm loving angels instead

For all of you, if you guys haven't noticed, we're in songmeanings.net, not listentotheassholesspeak.net. If you're not here to help us understand the song, then I suggest you quit whining and leave. Take your shit with you. God! Get a life. (By the way, if you reply to this, then you guys really must be just loser geeks who have nothing better to do)
Anyway, I think this song is really about angels. Just read the lyrics, and you'll find it's pretty much about the guy being thankful for the angel that watched over him. He refers to her merely as 'she'.
And also, one of you guys said that Robbie Williams didn't really write this song? That you actually did, and you sold it to him? Well it seems like you're not much upset by it. Or maybe you're lying, bastard.
But seriously, if you did write it then you've got some talent. You should consider doing more.

It’s about a loved one passing away. It’s about grief and being lucky to have had that kind of love. The song seems to imply that when you are in a weak moment of grieving you will draw strength from up above. Your loved one is now your angel. For me this song represents the passing of my father and the lyrics to me are so powerful. All the words in this song represent my father now my angel. Just beautifully written.

great song,great memories

Unconditional Love. It is about someone who makes a diffrenece in your life with their love. Someone who loves you no matter what...causeing this person to take on an out of worldly presence. In short feeling blessed to have someone.

The song is from Roy Hefferman. He and his girlfriend lost a baby. He is now loving an angel instead.

I think this is about turning to a dead lover or friend for help and guidance, someone looking down from up above and watching over you. It may sound morbid, but i want this one played at my funeral, to let my loved ones know that I'll always be with them long after I'm gone from this Earth.

i was at knebworth all three nights and i wasnt really a fan(my friend dragged me along) and after he sang ANGELS it turned me into a fan of his, robbie and this song are brillian!!!

It's about spirit guides, Mr. Williams said so himself in an interview. He wrote it before he got the record deal, when he was feeling really down, and he felt as though the grace of angels could have gotten him through. And yes, Jessica Simpson simply should not sing this song.

I love this song way too much and yes, Jessica Simpson should shut up and not ruin this great song with her whining

This song may be interpreted differently, however I have a slightly different take on it.
Looking at the lines, "And when the love is dead, I'm loving angels instead" strikes me as if the person saying this that the only real love in the world would be divine love.
In the chorus, which starts from "and through it all..." and goes on describing a typical ideal, unconditional love and on the last line he says "I'm loving angels instead..."
