And what's my master plan
What makes you think that it includes you?
Self-righteous wealth
Stop flattering yourself
So when the smoke clears here I am
Your reject all-American
Making you a nervous wreck
To hell and back and hell again I've gone
You're not my type
Not my type
I do what I want, and you do what you're told
So listen up and shut the hell up
It ain't no big deal
And I'll see you in hell
So when the smoke clears here I am
Your reject all-American
To hell and back and hell again I've gone

this song is aawesome, and the meaning is really different compared to what i originally thought. i mean, at first i thought that it had something to do with some girl asking him out, and him rejecting her, "not my type" but i didnt listen to the rest of the words, and now it makes more sense.

YEAH...this one is definitely in my "favorites" list... Even if that list is difficult to amke cause i have sooo many favorite songs from them...ACTUALLY...I LOVE THEM ALL!!! (even the new stuff contrarily to a lot of people here...i mean on the site... i just love Green Day!

billie-joe wrote this song after a mum wrote to him complaining that he swore too much in songs. he wrote back saying he doesnt give a damn what she thinks and he will write what he wants. the line 'I do what I want, and you do what you're told' was actually in his letter to this woman. its a quality song

i love this song.

I think it's about socal outcasts. But thats just my opinion.

this is my favorite green day song. ok well one of many.. this is... one of my favorite green day songs on nimrod? maybe...

iamtheone is correct. no offense, but you're all wrong but iamtheone.

IAMTHEONE is correct. This song reminds of a lot of people I know. There is so many great lines in this song

This is one of my favourite green day songs, off my favourite album by them :) I think it's about being rejected by society, personally.

Revising my earlier post, i did actually hear about that letter and now I see that this song is cos of it. A big DOH! to me.
