Providence Lyrics

Has anyone else ever noticed: the part around 11 minutes in when it's the lone singing voice, the melody they are singing is also used in Sleep in the movement Gathering Storm. Pretty weird.
Wow... I can hear that now. Never would have known, nice discovery. Also, at 11:40 he says "Gathering storm."

"The preacher man says its the end of time and the Mississippi River she's a going dry. The interest is up and the stock markets down and you only get mugged if you go downtown"
From Hank Williams "A Country Boy Can Survive".
I recently read an interview with Godspeed where they responded Hank Williams when asked what they had been listening to lately.

I believe the voice says 'Where are you going?'

This happens to me quite often:
I am laying in bed, falling asleep with F#A#oo playing. I start with track number one, and about halfway through Providence I am in a light sleep.
Then, the terrifying voice comes in. At first, I don't notice it, but it ALWAYS wakes me up. And there I am, laying there half asleep, listening to this voice that makes me want to grab a gun and go hide up in the attic. It's pretty damn creepy.
Honestly, I don't think I've ever heard this entire song, just because of that fact. The voice talking is not like other samples from GY!BE that are powerful and moving, it is just downright spooky.
To me, it wasn't that that was terrifying, it was the ending of East Hastings. That part's pretty creepy, but I get used to it. You should keep listening, because you shouldn't miss Kicking Horse. It's one of the best parts of the entire album.

More of that beginning of the end of the world music! An eerie evil looms over everything and fear is everywhere. The music sounds of the violence that is to come just moments after, and then the confusion and terror thats left to rule.

this sounds like Blaise again.

awesome stuff

It is Blaise again

I love the way this song has an air of optimism and hope about it, the first track on the album is so depressing (although still amazing) and this one brings about a change in emotion.
Also the secret track is alarming if you listen to it with headphones

wtf do you not read what BBF says?
