I Slept with Someone in Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me Lyrics
And you're the only place that feels like home
Just so you know, you'll never know
And some secrets weren't meant to be told
I found the cure to growing older
And I am sorry my conscience called in sick again
And I've got arrogance down to a science
Oh, and I'm the first kid to write of hearts, lies, and friends
Douse yourself in cheap perfume it's
So fitting, so fitting of the way you are
You can't cover it up
Can't cover it up
I'm sending your fingernails and empty bottles you've sipped
Back to your family cause I know you will be missed
So you can find a safe place, brace yourself
But for what we've become, we just feel more alone
Always weigh what I've got against what I left
So progress report: I am missing you to death
No one new
Feeling borrowed
Always blue
Someone old
No one new
Feeling borrowed
Always blue
Someone old
No one new
Feeling borrowed
Always blue
Someone old
No one new
Always borrowed
Always you
I found a cure to growing older

Progress report: I am missing you to death
that line is so bitterly cute

Someone old No one new Feeling borrowed always blue Someone old No one new Always borrowed Always you
that part is so sick
that part is so sick

i think the cure togrowing older is talking about and putting down others. by telling others about his hookup with this girl he makes himself feel better. he says she should douse herself in cheap perfume because thats all she deserves. she is a cheap whore so all she deserves is cheap perfume (so fitting) but no matter how much she wears can't cover it up. and is it only me but what the hell are they talking about with the fingernails and bottle section? possibly murder? this is why i love fall out boy. their stuff is actually thought provoking and meaningful. this in direct contrast with much pathetic tripe out there. sorry if i'm completely wrong about this but forgive me, i'm new.
Fingernails and empty bottles-
Fingernails and empty bottles-
She's away from her family and is getting drunk all the time and doing dangerous things or something that makes her bite her nails. Sending her fingernails and empty bottles she's sipped back to her family so they know what she's doing and they won't be proud of her. find a safe place, brace yourself, bite your lip because she's about to experience the backlash from all the bad things she's done because he exposed her for who she really is. -- my take on things

The cure to growing older is dying young. He's pissed that she cheated on him--she's a cheap whore, afterall--and so he's going to kill her. This is shown in two lines: "Progress report: I'm missing you to death" and "I'm sending your fingernails and empty bottles you've sipped Back to your family cause I know you will be missed".

This song is definetly one of my favorites off the new album. It's an awesome song about, at least I think, a girl screwing with a guy and not being able to shut your mouth, "Just so you know, you'll never know And some secrets weren't meant to be told." Something happened between the two that should'nt have been shared with others and now he's pissed.
He's mad that she's screwing around like this, but he's thinking only through himself, taking it out on her, "And I am sorry my conscience called in sick again And I've got arrogance down to a science."
The chorus to me is him saying that he's done so much that she should, "Douse yourself in cheap perfume." This is beacuse she's obviously cheap, some whorish kind of girl I guess and it's, "So fitting of the way you are." The last part is him just saying that no matter what she does, her image won't change, "You can't cover it up."
"Find a safe place, brace yourself, bite your lip I'm sending your fingernails and empty bottles you've sipped Back to your family cause I know you will be missed" This verse seems like he's so pissed at her that he's going to ruin her life, hence the whole, "Find a safe place, brace yourself, bite your lip." This next part is compeltely my own interrpretation but the whole nails part is that she's so scared she can only bite her nails and turns to drinking to try and help her fear. He's ruining her life more by showing this to her family.
"They call kids like us vicious and carved out of stone But for what we've become, we just feel more alone Always weigh what I've lost against what I left Progress report: I am missing you to death." He's saying that people think that he's taking things too far and is not going to do anything about since no one can get through to him. Since he's like this, there's no one there for him and he realizes that, "Always weigh what I've lost against what I left." Possibly he realizes what he's doing enough that he misses her just a little.
"Someone old No one new Feeling borrowed always blue Someone old No one new Always borrowed Always you" This is talking about how people have came and gone and it's making him feel like crap, "Always blue." He feels borrowed because people just leave him as easily as they go to him, and it's constantly reminding him of this girl.
So yeah, that's what I think.

Until you really look at the lyrics, it sounds like a non-violent song. Then you read the lyrics. This is why I love Fall Out Boy.

So this is the one song on the new album without a sexual innuendo. the guys posted on their website that there was only one song without one.. this is it. the title isn't an innuendo, it's a blantant reference. slightly amusing, hm?

I love the name of this song... it's hilarious...

The gang vocals in this song are a very nice touch.
