Spatial Architects Lyrics

Space, their true asylum
The ancient ones they travel on
The architects of our way
In the dark we stay!

The knowledge that you seek is deep inside you
The knowledge that you seek just may reveal
The knowledge that you seek just may reveal
That things are not what they may seem

Can't you wake up and see?
For our own good they tried to deceive
You must learn to believe
That mankind's blind and trying to see
The architects have left us many signs
But the answers lie in death

Fate
Predestination
Manifest
Manipulate
The architects of our way
In the dark we stay!
The knowledge that you seek is deep inside you
The knowledge that you seek just may reveal
The knowledge that you seek just may reveal
That things are not what they may seem

Can't you wake up and see?
For our own good they tried to deceive
You must learn to believe
That mankind's blind and trying to see
The architects have left us many signs
But the answers lie in death

If you're asking yourself
Who you really are
And you question the force-fed religions of man
And you know
You know it just can't be
You know it just can't be

So cleanse your mind
So cleanse your mind
Fear is God's pillar and
It has made you blind

Can't you wake up and see?
For our own good they tried to deceive
You must learn to believe
That mankind's blind and trying to see
The architects have left us many signs
But the answers lie in death

If you're asking yourself
Who you really are
And you question the force-fed religions of man

And you know
You know it just can't be
You know it just can't be
So cleanse your mind
So cleanse your mind
Someone must hold the key
Someone must hold the key
The ones who sowed the seed
The ones who sowed the seed
Faith is the final key
The final key
What lies beyond the stars
Lies beyond the stars
Can't you wake up and see?
Wake up and see!
Oh you must learn to believe
Our makers, our framers, our fathers, our gods
The architects roam on their quest for a spirit unknown
If you're asking yourself who you really are
And you question the force-fed religions of man
And you know....
Our makers, our framers, our fathers, our gods
The architects roam on their quest for a spirit unknown

This is one of the bonus tracks on the limited edition of Touched By The Crimson King. Man, this song is so fucking excellent!

As for the meaning:

I think the "architects" decided to hide what life really is about, in many ways, possibly by giving religion to men; because mankind is not capable to handle the truth about universe (the line "For our own good they tried to deceive"), however they left us signs so the ones who are worthy of knowing will evenutally find out.

That's how I see it anyway, kind of an occult theme.

This song sounds like it's about Scientology.

Yes, sort of, but a bit deeper than that. =)

I think this song is supposed to be a wake up call for people to realize that any one religion is blinding and that we were made to never know where we came from or who made us and that the beings who created us are like us in that they are trying to discover the meaning of their existance. It sounds like scientology, but i think it may have something more to do with an agnostic view of existance or the evercontinuing search for our origin.

It's more Gnostic "look inside" for the answers. Also kinda makes me think Matrix.

I keep thinking Lovecraft...

This song makes me think about masonry and the free masons. They 'worship' the great architect of the universe, or something like that, and they believe more in reason than in religion and etc.

Ok, I'm not an expert in the subject but it looks A LOT like masonry for me.

Re Blaed's comments: my spirituality (deistic, further classification pending) takes your idea a step further: the beings who created us did so BECAUSE they were trying to better understand their own existence. This universe is a simulation and predictive model of the one in which its creators live. (It may also be serving an entertainment purpose.) Even though we weren't provided with a consistent set of revelations to tell us who created us and where we're headed, we may nevertheless have enough brains to figure it out.

Was it actually Hansi who wrote these lyrics? Because they sound very Deistic (Hansi's a Christian, btw), and Schaffer IIRC is a Deist.

Schaffer, quoted at http://www.metal-rules.com/interviews/Jon_Schaffer.htm: "I believe in the human spirit and in a higher power. However I have a real problem with the church and the scare tactics used to control people."
