The Bones of an Idol Lyrics
As we kneel in the court of the king
As we sift through the bones of an idol
We dig for the bones of an idol
When the will is gone
Because something keeps turning us on
You've been searching for
Since you were young
When you still had the bones of an idol
If you still had the bones of an idol
You'd be long long gone
But something keeps turning you on
By half what we wanted
But we escaped with the bones of an idol
Escaped with the belt and the title
But our land is gone

Pretty, cool, and great lyrics. Neat-o.

It's finding inspiration. I think.

I think it's poking fun at the term "bone idle", in which case the "finding inspiration" of LockeCole is like finding the inspiration to get off your ass.

I think it's about the effect religion has on people. On one hand, there are the people who are happy with the "bones of an idol", which I see as primarily a good foundation to build your life around. And then their are people who want power and glory... the cup, belt and title.
And judging by the last part of the song, I'd say it's more specifically about how the people who are just in it for themselves end up screwing it up for everyone else.

FWIW, "kneel in the court of the king", "You hold up the cup / You've been searching for / Since you were young", and "We cling to the raft" could all be interpreted as referencing scenes from Indiana Jones.
