Oh! Gravity. Lyrics
In the back seat of a parked car
By the liquor store where the streetlights
Keep you company till the next night
In the same town there's the same scar
In the same glow of the liquor store
By the freeway where the headlights
Keep her company till the next night
Seem to keep it together
Sons of my enemies
Why can't we seem to keep it together
There's a thin man with a line drawn
With a red jaw and the red bite
Watch the headline on the next night
Seem to keep it together
Sons of my enemies
Why can't we seem to keep it together
Why this tragedy, why can't we
Seem to keep it together
Oh, gravity, why can't we
Seem to pull it together now
We found out the hype won't get you through
Connected, connected
I meant it, the hype won't get you through
Seem to keep it together
Oh, gravity, why can't we
Seem to pull it together
Why this tragedy, why can't we
Seem to keep it together
Oh, gravity, why can't we
Seem to pull it together now

Check out this interpretation of the song: http://switchfeed.blogspot.com/2006/11/what-does-oh-gravity-mean.html

I'm sure some of these are wrong because the recording I have was obtained by someone holding a cell phone up to a radio that was playing the song acoustic. The fifth line of the song is a total guess, and the first one doesn't sound right either. Any help on these would be awesome.

Thanks, alot of those sound pretty correct. I want a full version of this song.

I must say, this song is AMAZING.

I listened to it about 500 times so far, and after thinking about it a while, what I got out of it was that it's talking about a what makes people fall morally.

An article/interview on the album said its a politically-motivated appeal for peace, love and understanding. Which makes sense..

First of all ThisSettingSun's lyrics are compeletely wrong. Second, its pretty straightforward wat the chorus means, but the verses make no sense to me
When I read them, I was like, WTF. The first line without a doubt says fracture, so they were wrong right off the bat

Notice that thissettingsun's lyrics were posted in July, when all we had of the song was a cell phone recording of an acoustic version of the song. Needless to say, it was a bit hard to understand.

it sounds like they're goin back to their old sound with this one, but switch back to their newer more "rockish" sound with the next track. its great. switchfoot is one of the best bands of the generation in my opinion. oh and drummerjoe, you try interpreting the lyrics off a phone recording. before the cd was even out. yea thats right you cant. so shut up.

does anyone else agree the verses in this song are too familiar... i cant place a song name, but i swear the verses in this song musically sound exactly the same as some other song i've herd in the past
besides that good song
