Get Over It Lyrics
And it's back to playschool for me and my childhood friend
Well get over it!
So I sit in the corner and watch you like the man I am
Well get over it!
Get over it!
D'you want my side, my side of the story?
Well I want you, want you like I'm eighteen
But I'm tied, tied to my baby
To my baby
Oh!
But it's this life darlin', and in this life we make do
Oh get over it!
G-g-g-g-get over it!
D'you want my side, my side of the story?
Well I want you, want you like I'm eighteen
But I'm tied, tied to my baby
To my baby
My blessed baby
Well I'm so tired, sick tired of the story!
Oh I want that thing that turns the grass green
Oh I'd kill my life for, what could I be
What could I be?

My thought is that it's about a chilhood sweetheart or someone he wuved when younger and, seeing him/her again he wants to get saucy and his rauncy, hormonal feelings have come back... but of course he's in a serious relationship with some he loves now and is dedicated to NOW, (as opposed to the person he once wanted)

Presumably he really likes this other girl, and it's a really physical desire ("I want you like I'm eighteen" and "In another life I'd be drenched in sweat with you"), but he's already with someone else ("I'm tied to my baby"). So they have to "get over it" as in their desires, because "it's this life darlin', and in this life we make do" - you can't always have what you want in this life.
Really like this song - very catchy like you say!

so catchy!!

I agree with you guys, though I think its probably about as specific as ariesstyle said. Its not just about liking someone when you're with someone else. Its about liking someone you previously had some entanglement with, perhaps which resulted in some kind of conflict or breakdown in communications. "Do you want my side of the story?" I love that he keeps repeating this. Its exactly the kind of frustrated shite you say to someone who doesn't factor in your present life at all, but whom mattered to you a great deal in the past. "Get over it." Indeed :)
