Christian Woman Lyrics

a) Body Of Christ (Corpus Christi)
b) To Love God
c) Jesus Christ Looks Like Me

A cross upon her bedroom wall
From grace she will fall
An image burning in her mind
And between her thighs

A dying God-man full of pain
When will you cum again?

Before him beg to serve or please
On your back or knees
There's no forgiveness for her sins
Prefers punishment ?
Would you suffer eternally
Or internally?

For her lust
She'll burn in hell
Her soul done medium well
All through mass manual stimulation
Salvation

Body of Christ
She needs
The body of Christ

She'd like to know God
Ooh love God
Feel her God
Inside of here - deep inside of her

Jesus Christ looks like me

I'm a seminary student and think this song is actually rather clever. Peter is writing about something most people would find blasphemous, but with his Catholic upbringing (and current renewal of faith), I'm sure he was aware of concepts such as the Church being the "Bride of Christ", an image that Jesus himself uses in describing the body of believers, and is again used in Revelations.

Also, many believers who dedicated their life to celibacy, such as nuns and priests, are essentially "marrying" themselves to God.

Many people find Song of Songs (or Song of Solomon), a overtly sexual poetic narrative about the love between a husband and bride to be an allegory describing God's love for his followers.

In an interview during the 90's, Peter Steele stated he got the idea for the song from a number of women who had mentioned to him that they thought Jesus Christ "was a babe".

So yes, the song may have been written to simply be something twisted to sing about, but the concept Pete is talking about is not entirely alien within the realm of Scripture.

Pete is talking a concept that is talked about much in Scripture and the faith and moving it from a "symbolic" marriage to a woman who has an actual physical attraction to God and Christ. Obviously many people would not openly talk about this subject, but who is to say that this

@Gypsyjazzbo Gosh, I know you're probably not around anymore, but this was a really great read and analysis. Thank you so much.

A woman stuck between religion and sex. She tries to be the Good Christian.. and she fails. Her urges get to her and she slides deeper and deeper into something she knows is wrong. But, as we all know by the lyrics, she doesnt mind a little freefall into hell if she gets what she wants.

It's about the sexual perversion of religion... though Catholicism is probobly more perverse than Christianity... with all of the confessinals, repenting in particular...

I read somewhere, in some interview, that it is about a girl masturbating and feeling bad.

Though, have you ever looked at a catholic saint in their state of 'rapture?' A spiritual moment so powerful that it's both painful and pleasurable?

It always reminds me of sexual climax. Like the two things are interwoven. I suppose in a lot of ways religion is very sexual. There's really no greater act of submission than submission to god. At least, that's my very Medieval and Augustan view of religion.

I think this song is about christianity objectifying morality by using the example of forbidding masturbation..

I always thought it was Pete trying to convince a religious girl to have sex with him. "Jesus Christ looks like me" another thing I always thought was interesting was the way he says "Body of Christ" in latin (Corpus Christi) then changes to the english pronunciation soon after. I thought that symbolized the way the church used to say all services in latin, then dumbed it down and said it all in english when people got too lazy to learn latin.

Despite the interviews and the video, the song seems to depict a christian woman feeling lustful towards her god and/or jesus. The irony in the song, which is a TON signature, is that lust is typically shunned in chistian culture and not only is this woman feeling lust, but she is lustful for her idol.

then dumbed it down and said it all in english when people got too lazy to learn latin.

Okay, now this is dumb: At no time more than 1% of the people knew latin. All the time before, nobody but the priest had any idea what was read in church.
