I truly don't understand how the Beatles write so many fantastic songs, let alone love songs. This song reminds me of being younger....though I am only 19 now. It's just another example of how great the Beatles and older music in general is , even though much of it is very simple musically and lyrically.
A great love song from their early years. Paul definately was the best writer for the love songs; at least in the beginning.
despite the lyrics mostly happy tone, there is still something positively melencholy about this song, especially with the line "Bright are the stars that shine/Dark is the sky" Does this mean that their love is the light in a world that is otherwise black and despairing?
This song was playing the second time I rolled a car. As I struggled to get myself out through the broken passenger side window, that was now directly above me, I couldn't help but sing along. My favorite song on "A Hard Day's Night."

born to run, I notice the same melancholy tone to the song as you. It's something that is really hard to explain because the song is just so lovely. It is like "I'll Follow the Sun," but less so. Only Paul could write such a song...
Paul wrote this song after hearing criticism that all the Beatles did was "Yeah Yeah Yeah" music. Jose' Ramirez guitars gave classical guitars to all the Beatles, and George Harrison plays his on the recording and in "Hard Day's Night."
A simple song, yet so bold and easily one of the best love songs out there.
