In Between Days Lyrics
I felt like I could die
Yesterday I got so old
It made me want to cry
Just walk away
Go on go on
Your choice is made
Go on go on
And disappear
Go on go on
Away from here
When I said it was true
That it couldn´t be me and be her
Inbetween
Without you
Without you
I shivered like a child
Yesterday away from you
It froze me deep inside
Don´t walk away
Come back come back
Come back today
Come back come back
Why can´t you see?
Come back come back
Come back to me
When I said it was true
That it couldn´t be me and be her
Inbetween
Without you

He starts to feel old in his current relationship.
Finds an "in between days" girl to keep things fresh.
Girlfriend finds out and leaves.
He tries to convince her to come back and accept the triangle, but ends up admitting that he'd rather stay with the new girl:
"and I know I was wrong when I said it was true that it couldn't be me and be her in between, without you".
In other words, he sort of feels like a dick (he is) and regrets hurting his girlfriend, but mostly feels sorry for himself for not getting away with cheating.

This is VERY good. After buying the album the other day, I finally realized that. The first verse, it seems that the girl really hurt him, and he's basically telling her that he never wants to see her again. The next day, he realizes how much he misses her and that, even though she hurt him, he'd still rather than she be in his life, and he's asking her to come back. And look at this- the lines in the "Go on/come back" parts paralelle each other. "Just walk away/Don't Walk away" "You choice is made/Come back today" (doesn't work exactly) "Just dissappear/Why Can't you see?" "Away from here/come back to me."
The title comes from, I think, the moment he realized that he doesn't actually want her to go away- in between the two days. Not really sure about the chorus, but it sounds cool, especially after the verses. So it goes.

the chorus is talking about another women getting in between him and the girl he loves

i think this song is about two people who ended a relationship...the singer is trying to figure out if the person he left/left him was the person he really loves, when he says (these lyrics really confused me but heres what i take from it)
"And I know I was wrong When I said it was true That it couldn't be me and be her Inbetween without you Without you"
he realizes that, after considering or trying to be with someone else, he realizes that that "other" person in between was only the "in between person", because of his former, and true love. and he longs to have his true love back in his life

I love this one, the music and lyrics are just perfect and roberts voice is amazing! I think it's about a guy whose girlfriend walks away and he's like, go on I don't need you, but later regrets what he said. he wants her back and knows he was wrong. and I like NewDawnFades217's interpretation!

Simon. It's about Simon. "That it couldn't be me (-RS-) and be her (-Mary-) Inbetween without you (-Simon-)"

...the tune is fantastic - a 50 second instrumental intro - quite unheard of in '83 when it was released. love cave is spot on. Its about two lovers breaking-up, he meeting another but wishing for the other (thats what Rob Smith said in an NME interview)

I think this song is about cheating on someone you're with. the girl finds out about it and leaves. the whole song is about the guy trying to get her back. he says that the other girl wasnt really important and he really loves his real girlfriend/wife or whatever. i dunno thats just my interpretation

ever heard of a love triangle?

In between is referring to time hence the days at the end of the name. There is an assumption that he is going back to the original relationship that he is yearning for so badly. Sucks to be the in-between girl, huh?
