Corrina, Corrina Lyrics
Gal, where you been so long?
Corrina, Corrina,
Gal, where you been so long?
I been a-worryin' 'bout you, babe,
Baby, please come home.
I got a bird that sings.
I got a bird that whistles,
I got a bird that sings.
But I ain't a-got Corrina,
Life don't mean a thing.
Gal, you're on my mind.
Corrina, Corrina,
Gal, you're on my mind.
I was sittin' down, thinkin' of you
I just can't keep from crying.

this song is so simple but its so beautiful. One of my favourites.

this song reminds me of the movie corrina, corrina, with whoppi goldberg. and the lyrics make me all emtional and weepy . i lover bob dylan

Although this song is a traditional (popularised by Leadbelly) Dylan put alot into this song, changing almost every line, and you can tell by the way he sings it that it means something to him, i think he had someone in mind when singing about 'corrina'. Also, musically its the most complex song on any of his albums up to this point.

popularised by leadbelly? I dont think so, I've never known this song to be a part of his repotoire. This song is sung by Bo Carter with lyrics very similar to these. Other variations also exsist such as The Mississippi Sheiks "Sweet Maggie" and Charlie McCoys "Sweet Alberta"

This song is one of my favourites - absolutely beautiful song! I particularly like the line about 'I got a bird that whistles, I got a bird that sings'
Doesn't take much interpretation in terms of the lyrics, but beautiful song all the same!

i love how he hits the high notes in this song. this is a beautiful side of bob dylan, in his earlier years, that a lot of people forget about, but this is what he got in the "biz" for originally-this kind nice, easy, folky music

This is my childhood in a song. I have listened to Ted Hawkins singing it all my life. Bob Dylan is an arsehole. Went to see him in Glasgow and he was a racist bastard, he walked off the stage after only half a song. Ted Hawkins always. He's the best in the world. I got what I wanted but I lost everything I had. HAPPY HOUR xxx

i love bob dylan. this song is excellent and so is he.
