This is my fucking anthem right now. Fuck significant oters that say I love you just to say it. Thatlie about everything that you can't see with your own two eyes. That treat you like shit but try to deny it. That act like you're their world but in reality its all bullshit. You let them see the actual you, that you let barely anyone see..and they don't even care at all so you're vulnerable. And fuck them forleaving you hurting over what you thought was there when it really wasn't at all..and now you're left torn apart and they're fine, with everything they wanted in the first place. Fuck them because they suck.

I love at the tail end when he says "And I ain't never coming back to you." He's so powerful in this song. Every line makes perfect sense, and he expressed all of his emotions in the music and the words... like the verse "do you remember the way we used to melt do you remember how it felt when I touched you" the music seems to be more flowing, like in a happy, romantic memory. And it gets all strict and the beat strengthens on lines like "and I don't trust you!" great song.

This song is really powerful, in my opinion. It points out a lot of things that people don't want to say or recognize in dying relationships. "You take my hand just to give it back" is one of my favorite lines in the entire song. Many people want what they can't have, and when they have it, they toss what they worked so hard to get back where they got it from. This line is a perfect example of that. Kudos to Maroon 5 ^_^
The lyrics could also say "Just for a minute, or to do you." (As in, to sleep with you.) They sound the same. And another possible sex reference: "...someone you let in." (Or maybe I'm just a nympho who finds sexual undertones in everything!) I love this song, especially the part about saying 'I love you' and not meaning it- so true!
i agree wit that last thing u said val, i also think that the part about a simple love with a complex touch is quite meaningful in this song.As in they have maybe quite a sexual relationship..simple...but a complex touch...maybe love got involved??and it got compicated and ppl got hurt

Most of the songs on this CD, especially "Through with You" and "This Love", have very sexual overtones. This is probably because they were all written about the same girl, and the relationship seems to have been heavily reliant on the physical.
The album is title SONGS ABOUT JANE... of course a MAJORITY (not the whole album) is going to be about Jane... (yes Jane is real)
