Dirt Lyrics

This is one thing that...
I was going to wait a while before we talked about.
Maybe we'll talk about it now so you can think about it
Because you all, we all have to make some kind of plans for ourselves

It's a free concert from now on.
But the one major thing you have to remember tonight
When you go back up to the woods to go to sleep or if you stay here
Is that the man next to you is your brother
And you damn well better treat each other that way
Because if you don't then we blow the whole thing
But we've got it right there.....

"Flinch, you'll get a fucking gun-butt to your gut"

Country Joe asks "What's that Spell?"
The crowd says "FUCK"

The "your brother" samples are all from the original Woodstock concert. Wavy Gravy spoke these lines from the stage.

The "What's that spell?" sample is also from Woodstock. It is Country Joe McDonald and the crowd.

In most American releases, the sample is censored, which is why it makes little sense. What you're hearing is, "...flinch, you'll get a fucking gun butt to the gut." I'm not sure where that sample comes from, though.

The Rap sample is from Roxanne Shanté - 'Big Mama', it's from the verse where she disses West Coast rapper Yo Yo, "you rolled up slut, you'll get a fucking gun-butt to your gut"

Lyric Correction

I thought she saw saying, "What's with you fuckie, come fuck this slut." Which made more sense in the context of Very Bad Things.
