Hazel Lyrics

Hazel, dirty blonde hair
I wouldn't be ashamed to be seen with you anywhere
You got something I want plenty of
Ooh, a little touch of your love.

Hazel, stardust in your eye
You're going somewhere and so am I
I'd give you the sky high above
Ooh, for a touch of your love.

Oh no, I don't need any reminder
To know how much I really care
But it's just making me blinder and blinder
Because I am up on the hill and still you're not there.

Hazel, you called and I came
Now don't make me play this waiting game
You've got something I want plenty of
Ooh, a little touch of your love.

Beautiful song! reminds me (my opinion) of tween love and how scornful it can be when the girl or boy you like laughs at you when you decide to get the courage to tell them and you get sand thrown into your face.

It has my name in it. :D

I know its silly to like a song because your name is in it. But i love all Dylan songs, and this is one of my favourites :D

Oh, just a simple change of the name to Marie, will tell you the story of a lady I used to love. An amazing song disregarding a lot of sadness in it

LITTLEREDWAGON4 is right. It's amazing that more people haven't commented on this. This is one of his all-time masterpieces. The simple imagery paired with complex sound. The bluesiness of it mixed with an almost techno/ambiant assortment of organ sounds... just amazing. I love the line "I wouldn't be ashamed to be seen with you anywhere."

"In the heartless, mechanical, Land of Darkest Night Where answers flee and questions can kill a boy Our hearts are made weary by the thoughts of what is "right" For we are told we are wrong when all we want it joy But a lantern, a light, in a distant window glows It is the warmth of the woman whose love she has gave me Each woman is unique in the form that God chose But mine, she shines on, to protect and to save me"

-Jamie Daniel, American Poet, 2003

Planet Waves is severely underrated, and this song is an example of this

Possibly the best track on the much underrated 'Planet Waves' released in 1974. Dylan sings this one with apparent genuine affection for Hazel - maybe a fictitious character with the ousing theme of unrequited love. His voice is relaxed and romantic for this simple love song.
