Nobody 'Cept You Lyrics
'Cept you, yeah you
There's nothing round here to me that matters
'Cept you, yeah you
You're the one that reaches me
You're the one that I admire
Every time we meet together
I feel like I'm on fire
Nothing matters to me
And there's nothing I desire
'Cept you, yeah you
'Cept you, yeah you
Got nothing here to live or die for
'Cept you, yeah you
There's a hymn I used to hear
In the churches all the time
Make me feel so good inside
So peaceful, so sublime
And there's nothing that reminds me of that
Old familiar chime
Except you, uh huh you
Dance and run and sing when I was a child
And it never seemed strange
Now I just pass mournfully
By that place where the bones of life are piled
I know somethin' has changed
'Cept you, yeah you
Nothing anymore seems to please me
'Cept you, yeah you
Nothing hypnotizes me
Or holds me in a spell
Everything runs by me
Just like water from a well
Everybody wants my attention
Everybody got something to sell
'Cept you, yeah you
I'm in love with you.

One of the most simple yet heart wrenchingly true-to-life meanings a song could have - his girl is his everything.
"Used to run in the cemetery Dance and run and sing when I was a child And it never seemed strange Now I just pass mournfully By that place where the bones of life are piled I know somethin' has changed"
Just, wow.
One of the most amazing/underrated songs of all time.

This is a really beautiful, subtle love song. I completely agree with phlemmo, that this is one of Dylan's most amazing yet underrated songs.

beautiful. nobody cept her... :)

I'm not religious but I think this song is about God.
i love this song. it's so hidden ya know? just waiting there to be discovered in a quiet place in your heart. as with other of my favorite Dylan songs, I think this song can very well be seen as a spiritual song, and in that sense, i find it pretty consistent and moving. yes, it definitely makes me think about how we feel our need for God when we are at our loneliest, how that love and need for God and Christ ought to be so deep, that everything else pales in comparison. you have to...

similarly, his song: "make you feel my love" is a great love song, but it makes even more sense to me when you hear it as a song to us from God, a song that captures the love and compassion that Christ has for us and the suffering that he was willing to undergo for us.

God this great. On paper it sounded so simple but hearing it is really a different thing. Love it.

That's so perfect for being in love. All your favorite memories and the way they made you feel in the past, all encapsulated into one person and how they make you feel now.

This is how I feel about my girl. Katie Gillenwater.
