Man of Constant Sorrow Lyrics
I've seen trouble all my days
I'll say goodbye to Colorado
Where I was born and partly raised.
My face you'll never see no more
But there's one promise, darling
I'll see you on God's golden shore.
Through ice and snow, sleet and rain
I'm about to ride that morning railroad
Perhaps I'll die on that train.
The place that I started from
If I knowed how bad you'd treat me
Honey, I never would have come.

An underrated classic.

Also, the lyrics are a bit off. Third stanza is " Through this open world I'm a-bound to ramble," not what is currently up there.

A cover of the Stanley Brothers, appeared on the first album. great song!

This is one of my favorites. It's a bit of my own life story so i really get into this song. Song meaning is pretty obvious right?

was this his original work or what?

I believe this is actually a traditional American folk song. with some lyrics altered more to Dylan's liking. The staggered phrasing in this song is always worth coming back. I have heard it many times over and am still surprised by when he chooses to drag out a certain word or cut it short. Beautiful rendition . Better than the O' brother where art thou version

"If I had known you'd treat me bad honey I never would have come."
Love this song
