Cubic Zirconias Are Forever Lyrics
dizzy people floating in the same flood lights
that we'll be sinking in
if the stars in the sky are diamonds
promised to the ocean floor
we'll fake first and leave a reflection
of what they're searching for
with underwater caveman minds
and suddenly we're curious
for we found the secrets to
a black diamond left in the sea
a prism with a hopeless color scheme
and we are one step... . .
we;ll leave the lights alone
cause if they're out tonight
they'll leave their lights low
(let's go!) Let us go before we're doomed
take it to the ocean floor
let us search beneath the blue
we are one step close to never knowns

I think that this song is about the sinking of the Titanic. "dizzy people floating in the same flood lights that we'll be sinking in" refers to all of the media attention prior to the sailing of the Titanic. "Underwater caveman minds" refers to the now deceased who had the audacity to think that the ship was unsinkable. We have now found the Titanic and are "one step closer to never knowns"
Mr.McV, Well said. Its a shame there no longer around, A truly amazing band.

I believe you are right with the Titanic, but I believe it goes deeper than that. The Titanic can be a metaphor for a relationship. Both parties believing they are unsinkable, they carry on as if nothing can or will come between them. My favorite lines are 'a black diamond left in the sea, a prism with a hopeless color scheme' I don't know where this fits into the relationship scheme, but it reminds me of me in some ways. I may be wrong, and its just one of those arbitrary hopesfall-esque songs about the Titanic and the people who...

this song seems to tell a story about hidden treasures under the ocean and a deadly race between rival factions to obtain them.
it also ties in with the record's underwater/ocean themes.
