Chandelier Searchlight Lyrics
Chandelier searchlight lights up
Scale glaring airship
Dream when crows cry
Welcome to the underworld
You won't need invitation
Swing by, sweet heart
La la la la life life
Hold my soul Oh Charon
Over muddy water
Night awakes day escapes
If dive into flaming magma
Welcome to the underworld
You won't need invitation
Swing by, sweet heart,
Drop by, sweet heart
Utter incantation
To there transportation
New location
This is destination
La la la la life life
Hold my soul Oh Charon
Over muddy water
Yura yura yura
Scale glaring airship
Dream when crows cry
Welcome to the underworld
You won't need invitation
Swing by, sweet heart
La la la la life life
Over muddy water
If dive into flaming magma
Welcome to the underworld
You won't need invitation
Swing by, sweet heart,
Drop by, sweet heart
To there transportation
New location
This is destination
La la la la life life
Over muddy water

Wow no comments on this one, actuallya shocker, I think this is the perfect deerhoof song. I like other songs by them more, but chandelier is so beautifully understated, just awkward guitar that gives me visions of rearranging the set in between scenes at a play, and then moves beautifully with the vocals into a quiet rumination on death in a way a child would look at it, conjuring incantations and greek mythology but having no idea about what it really means to die. "swing by, sweet heart" But goes on living in the la la la la life, perhaps these thoughts brought on by the unrequited love of the sweetheart, but only playing with the thought of death, in what if I fell into a volcano stage, not suicide.
