This song seems to be about a significant relationship that has ended and they were dating again but it didn't work out.
"This was hard it was dumb we should do it again"
Suggesting that seeing eachother wasn't a good idea but in the future they would like to do it again because the relationship was important.

This is a beautiful song. It's about breakup and regret and how you always wish for things that used to be, but you can't recreate a feeling and a moment in time.
