A seed is planted of a greater place
Where no wrongs shall ever be done
Where all dreams and wishes be granted
And our fears forever overcome
What can you say of limited life
Are you never satisfied?
With no uncertainty to tread
But me, I'd rather be dead

At the end they promise one more chance at life
With a word, with a book, with their selfish rites
On and on await the ever burning light
Never take, never break, never leave the line
Keeping all of worth no matter what remains
When it's time nothing more enough my eyes explain
Ever we endure the wisdom of mistakes
Never right, never wrong but always ours to make

If I met this maker
I'd beg they listen well
To many histories gathered from this hell
Nothing could give purpose
To that I've no desire
A prison of the soul
Eternal empire

Time irresolute will ever take its toll
Many ways, many words each of us our own
Seeing past the veil with nothing more to learn
Given voice, given vote, I'd wish to not return
Service for reward the next life it can be
For this tide be here now a selfish act it seems
Rapture for oneself a greed to yet reject
Further on in my sight the universe connect

If I met this maker
I'd beg they listen well
To many histories gathered from this hell
Nothing could give purpose
To that I've no desire
A prison of the soul
Eternal empire

Pacified by a life restrained
Gone are shades that defined
Complacent the wicked friend
If this is life I want no

Empire, eternal empire, I need no kingdom
Empire, eternal empire
I take the poison for the cure.

The world is yours

Past heavens gate, there is no escape
For the ages I'll have laid my head down
Feed me no concern, for this I have learned
Seeing forever all is mine to burn
All is mine to burn

Empire, eternal empire, I need no kingdom
Empire, eternal empire, I take the poison

If I met this maker
I'd beg they listen well
To many histories gathered from this hell
Nothing could give purpose
To that I've no desire
A prison of the soul
Eternal empire

Okay, this is another song about Christianity/God based religions. I am going to explain this in large chunks.

"A seed is planted of a greater place Where no wrongs shall ever be done Where all dreams and wishes be granted And our fears forever overcome What can you say of limited life Are you never satisfied? With no uncertainty to tread But me, I'd rather be dead

At the end they promise one more chance at life With a word, with a book, with their selfish rites On and on await the ever burning light Never take, never break, never leave the line Keeping all of worth no matter what remains When it's time nothing more enough my eyes explain Ever we endure the wisdom of mistakes Never right, never wrong but always ours to make"

This is from view of people, and likely of the band members, who don't wish to live their life all butterflies, unicorns, and rainbows in order to get into "Heaven". They are saying "Can you not be happy with the life you live? Why would you want to go to a kingdom somewhere in the abyss to live forever? Further more, they are saying that holy rollers promise that you will have an eternal, everlasting life, as so long as you live up to everything the bible says (which 0% of them do themselves). The band is telling the listener to make mistakes and learn from them. Just cause you do something bad doesn't mean you are going to burn alive for eternity. We are human, and though the "Good Book" wants to paint us a different picture, we are prone to mistakes. We should make them, and we should learn from their consequences that they should not be done.

"If I met this maker I'd beg they listen well To many histories gathered from this hell Nothing could give purpose To that I've no desire A prison of the soul Eternal empire"

The band is saying, singer in particular for the context of this song, "If I met God, I'd give him an earful pertaining to all the dustriction he has caused. War, suicide, physical and sexual abuse, close mindedness" The he is saying that nothing could justify all of these horrors and at the end of the day, you are trapping your soul within false propaganda.

I think you could pretty much piece the rest together. I also gave my 2 cents on the song before this on the track, which goes hand in hand with this. Being an Agnostic that believes that all Gods may exists and that this particular "God" is an extremist, I hope these songs are pure. Hope these explanations clear things up!

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
