Cherry Lyrics
Yeah......1,2,3,4)
'Cause I can tell you once were pretty
Rose so sad you've lost your petals
Lost the luster off your tattle tales
I need a strength that I can not betray
I need a word to say what I can't say
I need a lover, lover
I need a lover, lover
What are we waiting for?
Time has lost its hold on me
In the stillness of cool air
All the boys have been left for dead
'Cause we go where they fear to tread
The beautiful one's the one's we'll remember
The precious one's our greatest pretenders
I need a strength that I cannot betray
I need a word to say what I can't say
I need a lover, lover
I need a lover, lover
Could you take me, too?
Could you rest inside the sleep?
Stay with me, I'll set you free from you...
Stay with me, I'll set you free from you...
Stay with me, I'll set you free from you...
I need a love...

I LOVE THIS SONG SOOO MUCH

this song is greatness.

this song says it all with so few words. billy's greatness displayed here. this song is truly remarkable.

this is so good. i reckon it's about how all you need to do is say nice things to a girl and she'll fall for you. there is an element of truth to this, although i think the guy getting the girls to love him is so desperate to feel something that he just says what he knows she wants to hear. so it's pretty sad. anyways, that's what i think...

billy corgan is a lyrical genius. this song makes me think of a wonderful boy and a horrible girl.
the lyrics are something that would sweep the tough as nails girls off their feet. some times everyone needs to feel beautiful.
[heres something beautiful now smash it to .b..i.t.s..]

The guitar in this song haunts me through the day... it's so beautiful... the lyrics are wonderful as always. I can't stop to interpret this song... it just seems to wash over me.

Smashing Pumpkins' throwaways are better than some band's best effort.

Does anyone know, assuredly, that in the line,
"The precious one's our greatest pretenders"
the correct word is 'our'? It could easily be heard as "are" which I feel would give it a whole new meaning.

To me this song is just perfect. I see in it feelings that the love he has for somebody he knows are wrong for some reason, but he just doesn't give a fuck anymore if it's wrong or right, he's getting sick of moral obligations he feels and just wants to experience the raw lust for once especially in the lines "What are we waiting for?" but the lines "And if you lose yourself Could you take me, too? Could you rest inside the sleep?" show he would still wait for her... The line "Coudl you take me, too" signify to me that no matter how strongly he wants this love, he still respects her.

ebin40ozdj, it's "our". It says so in the booklet from TAFH.
