This song is amazing. I have been dancing to it for a few days straight now. It's in my head when I go to sleep, still there when I wake up.

Jonathan Coulton – Re: Your Brains Lyrics 16 years ago
I'm pretty confident that zombies aren't capable of rational thought. You appear to be the one with the handicap if you are criticizing them for their logic. I wonder if that makes your brain taste better or worse...

Ani DiFranco – Self Evident Lyrics 18 years ago
I downloaded some Ani DiFranco and just got around to listening to it. I played this song and the first lines caught me. I continued listening, absolutely entranced. When I hit the three evident truths I realized I found my new favorite song.

It sounds like it goes: "I'll hold my breath/Until the end/I'll pray for us/etc."

Flaw – Recognize Lyrics 19 years ago
I think this has the element of self-mutilation in it from the "I hurt myself again not knowing why." This could also explain the, "it's so easy to leave everything behind," "I think I'm cracking up, I think I've lost my mind." Through all of his self-inflicted pain, he has a moment of clarity: "There must be someone I can see / There's got to be something for me / Showing love, let it go free / I know its there waiting on me / Let it out, let it go free." He sees that there's reasons to continue living though he dwelled on taking his life.

But, if you look at it, almost any song can be interpretted as self-mutilation. :\

Bear vs. Shark – We Were Sad But Now We're Rebuilding Lyrics 19 years ago
This has to be my favorite Bear Vs. Shark song. There's such an intensity through it that just grasps at you, despite the fact I have no idea what lead singer is singing majority of the time. I absolutely love the last thirty seconds. :)

Sleep Station – Caroline, London 1940 Lyrics 19 years ago
Amazing song. Any song that can have such a fast tempo but still be full of sorrow shows the artistic ability that this band encompasses.
