George Strait – Cross My Heart Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I can't help but cry a little everytime I hear this song. When our friends got married this past year this was their song, and at the end of the reception the DJ recorded their parents saying how much they loved them and how proud of them they were. There wasn't a single person who wasn't crying then. They've been together for 7+ years and this song describes them perfectly. Such an awesome song |

Dashboard Confessional – Tonight I'll Take What I Can Get Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Just listened to this for the first time, my brother and I decided that it sounds like Chris was listening to a lot of Bob Dylan recently. I'm not too sure how I feel about this one...but I'll take it! |
The Clarks – This Old House Is Burning Down Tonight Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I love this song...it's all about revenge. I just feel bad for the poor cat! |
Lee Ann Womack – Something Worth Leaving Behind Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Nope, definitely Lee Ann... |
Toby Keith – Courtesy of the red, white, and blue (angry american) Lyrics | 22 years ago |
well, regardless of what anyone says...this song rocks. In America, everyone has the right to be...if that wasn't the case, this wouldnt' be America. |
Chris Cagle – country by the grace of god Lyrics | 22 years ago |
What?! this IS NOT country by the grace of god! What is going on? |
The Beatles – Hey Jude Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Just to add to what I had written before about the line "The movement you need is on your shoulder," here's a quote from Sir Paul himself: “…and driving out there, (to John's and Yoko's) it might have been an hours drive and I started doing this ‘Hey Jules, don’t make it bad take a sad thing and make it better.’ You know, as optimistic, ‘Come on man, you know, it’s…your parents got a divorce, I know you’re not happy.’ Instead of Jules, I eventually changed it to Jude. I played it to John and Yoko. There was just one bit of the words which was ‘The movement you need is on your shoulder.’ And I’m playin’ it, and I just looked at John and said ‘I'll fix that, I'll fix that.’ He said, ‘What?’ I said, ‘Well, you know, the movement you need is on your shoulder. I-I-I’d used the word shoulder once and anyway, it’s just a stupid expression, it sounds like a parrot, you know, I'll change that.’ He said, ‘You won’t, you know.’ He said, ‘That’s the best line in the song, you know.’” |
The Beatles – While My Guitar Gently Weeps Lyrics | 22 years ago |
No...he's not saying "Paul, Paul, Paul..." it's "Oh, Oh, Oh..." and Paul DIDN'T actually DIE...It's just a Rumor. (that's a line from "Help!" George says it...) |
The Beatles – Revolution 9 Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I applogize, it is at the beginning of the song. I didn't see it when I first looked at the page. Also, in the background, it appears as the crowd is saying "paul's not dead" but it's something like, "Block that kick..." it's a crowd at a soccer game. This is around the 5 minutes and 30 second mark...it's right around the part that reads, "So the wife called me and we'd better go to see a surgeon to price it ..." Anyway...that's it. |
The Beatles – Revolution 9 Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I totally love this song...well, it's not quite a song...but anyway. This is another song that is linked to the whole "Paul is dead" scam. Intentional or not, that's how people saw it. It doesn't make any sense, but why do songs have to make sense? This is missing from the very beginning: [Bottle of Claret for you if I had realised... Well, do it next time. I forgot about it, George, I'm sorry. Will you forgive me? Yes.] Also, song4julia, as far as I know, these lyrics are correct...I checked with another site that has all of the songs listed and they match word for word...except for the part that's missing at the very beginning (in my post). If you'd like the link, PM me and I'll get it for you. |
Garth Brooks – The Dance Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Well, I take it very literally...during high school, I went to prom and homecoming with a few guys that I really liked. We had such a great time at each dance but our friendships dwindled after the dance was over. Well, one friendship ended at the dance...but regardless of the loss of my friends, I had the best time, and I'm glad I didn't know that it would end this way because I would have never taken the chances I did. |
The Beatles – I Am the Walrus Lyrics | 22 years ago |
BiteMe: No, they don't say "Smoke pot, smoke pot, everybody smoke pot." They do say, "got one, got one, everybody's got one." Thank you butterfingersbeck for pointing that earlier. The whole Paul being dead thing was something they played with. Somebody looked into a song a bit too far, The Beatles got wind of it, and went with it. Here's what I know about the whole thing: Apparently, the cover of Sgt. Pepper's album is supposed to be Paul's funeral, atleast that's what I've heard. And if you hold a mirror in the right spot on the bass drum in the middle, there's supposed to be an arrow that points to Paul and it should read "he died" or something like that. Paul's hand is on Ringo's shoulder (the clay figures), to comfort him...On the back cover, paul is the ONLY one that is standing with his back towards us. signifying him being dead (not sure how, but it does). In the Magical Myserty Tour movie, there's a scened where they're all singing and dancing and Paul has a black rose on his jacket, also signifying his death. To go back to the comment someone made about Paul being the man that died in the car, and that he was looking at a meter made, the meter made was Lovely Rita. The Abbey Road cover...The license plate on the VW Beetle reads "LMW(which I haven't heard has any meaning) 28 IF" The 28 IF supposedly means that Paul would have been 28 if he was still alive. John is wearing White and is represents God, Ringo, in his suit represents the Preacher, Paul - no shoes - dead. George, in his denim is either a Pall bearer, or a grave digger. I saw all of this on a special on VH1. It was interesting. I also have a few Beatles books...such as the anthology book. Gives you a bit of insight into it all. That's all I've got... |
Oasis – Don't Go Away Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I recently found out that one of my friends is moving to South Carolina at the end of the summer. We've known each other for 5 years and recently we've grown closer and a great relationship is developing. I don't want him to leave...this song, especially the chorus sort of sums it all up. I just need a little bit more time to make things perfect between the two of us |
Lynyrd Skynyrd – Simple Man Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Basically, live your life so that you'll love yourself for everything you do. Don't worry about worldly things, they come and go. Only do what you want to do, follow your heart, and be proud of all of your accomplishments. |
Lynyrd Skynyrd – Free Bird Lyrics | 22 years ago |
It was definitely written before the plane crash. I have two ways of interpreting it. 1. He's leaving his girl, because he's too independent. 2. Sort of like he's passed on. He's going to a better place and she doesn't need to worry about him. |
Sheryl Crow – Soak Up The Sun Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Sheryl has had so many good songs...this is definitely my least favorite song she has ever done. Sure, it's carefree, and happy and all that stuff but it's too poppy. But, I guess you do what you do to make it in life. If you're not selling one type of record, you may as well try to do something that works... |
Our Lady Peace – Dear Prudence Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Is on one of OLP's albums, or a special Beatle's Tribute album? If it's a Beatle's tribute I'm surpised I don't have it. If any one has any idea, let me know. Thanks! |
Oasis – Wonderwall Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Also, I'm just a little currious about why a song always has to be about a guy liking a girl?? It bothers me a bit...but I guess since a lot of the songs about relationships are written by males, it does make sense. Oh well... |
Oasis – Wonderwall Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I definitely agree with everyone who's commented on "There are many things that I would like to say to you but I don't know how." I've liked a guy for a long time, but can never find the right words to tell him. But also, I never know what to say to my best friend anymore...we've kinda grown apart...I wish I could still talk to her! |
Alice Cooper – School's Out Lyrics | 22 years ago |
It basically describes how just about everyone feels at this time of the year...post-graduation, or just after the last day of school. I know it's how I'm feeling right now (asside from the whole "school's been blown to pieces")...I graduate tonight! I can't wait to see what life will bring me. To everyone else who is graduating this year, Good Luck and God Bless You!! |
Sarah McLachlan – I Will Remember You Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Another song that reminds me of my friend Jake. At his funeral, we watched a slide show of his life, and this song played in the background. For the first year after his death, I couldn't listen to this song without crying. Lately, I've been thinking about him a lot...just trying to remember him. He was such a wonderful person, with such an amazing sense of humor. I only hope that others will remember him the way I did, and he will remember us when we all greet him on the other side, in Heaven. Sarah McLachlan – Angel Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Every time I hear this song, I am reminded of my friend Jake, who passed away a few years ago, due to cancer. He was only 15. The chorus reminds me of him the most, because I know he's in Heaven, in the arms of an Angel, being comforted after all of the pain he endured while he was alive. I also feel that he is my angel some days. He was a stronger person than I know I could ever be, not matter how long I live. This song was a comfort when he died, but it also made things harder knowing he was gone. Not a day goes by that I dont' think of him. He was an amazing person, and there will always be a place for him in my heart. |
Sarah McLachlan – Blackbird Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Originially a Beatles' Song...from the I Am Sam sound track. I love the original version so much and I love Sarah McLachlan's voice. I think she did an amazing job on this song, it's absolutely beautiful. Sometimes I feel like the blackbird...I just want to spread my wings and fly away from everything that's been going on in my life the past few months. I think come graduation I'll finally be free from everything and the line "All your life...You were only waiting for this moment to be free" will be so fitting. |
Sheryl Crow – My Favorite Mistake Lyrics | 22 years ago |
wow...I totally repeated myself there...amazing, wonderful...it all means the same thing. I must be dumb. But honestly, that's how I feel...I just had to repeat myself because I can't read. Ugh... |
Sheryl Crow – My Favorite Mistake Lyrics | 22 years ago |
So this song is about her relationship with Eric Clapton - weird, huh? Atleast that's what I've heard. She wrote it after they broke up. I think that everyone in their life has a favorite mistake, I know I do. We had an amazing time together, but in the end I knew that it was all a mistake. We had a wonderful time together, and I think that I was actually in love with him at the time...but it's all gone now - I guess I miss him. *sigh* I haven't had a decent relationship since then. I'm so pathetic |
Peter Gabriel – Solsbury Hill Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I find it hard to believe that these lyrics were only posted yesterday! I love the song, I'm not exactly what Mr. Gabriel was going for when he wrote the song, the meaning isn't all that clear to me. Anyone have an opinion, or is this song just random words and phrases that somewhat fit together?! |
Dashboard Confessional – For You To Notice Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I agree with Screamo-Emo...all Dashboard songs are good, if not great. This is one of the best songs I've heard...and I feel the same way Chris does. There's a person in my life that I would do anything for. Oddly enough, his name is Chris - I do anything just to get him to notice me or want to be with me. |
Arlo Guthrie – Alice's Restaurant Lyrics | 22 years ago |
One of the funniest songs I've ever heard - no joke. If you've never heard it, download it or find the CD. You'll be amused by it. |
Simon and Garfunkel – Bridge Over Troubled Water Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I agree...this song has been viewed so many times, but not a single comment has been made. This week, our high school choir did a version of this song arranged by Kirby Shaw. It was amazing. 2 of my good friends had solos for the second and third verses. It was absolutely beautiful, and they recieved a standing ovation. This song is so powerful and beautiful. This is how I feel about my best friend - I would do anything for her...no matter what she needs and I know she would do the same for me. I guess that's what having a best friend is all about. |
Creed – My Sacrifice Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Well, personally, I'm not the world's biggest Creed fan. But this song is good - I don't really have my own interpretation of it, but after reading all of this - I do have a few things to say. 1. You all make good points, I mean EVERYONE 2. So not everyone believes in God, that's your choice, not someone else's. OPD - I respect your beliefs. I am a Christian, and I love God with all of my heart and soul, but it's YOUR CHOICE on how you live your life, and I respect your choice for living your life the way you do. 3. Those of you who are Christians, you all have said things that seem to have been seeded by anger, maybe you all need to relax. It's not our place to judge, everyone will be judged by God in the end. 4. TKDAD, I'm sorry for your loss. I've lost several people who are very close to me, but never a family member. They've all been friends who lost their battles to cancer, or another disease. Be strong, God will guide you. Well, I think that's it. All songs are open to interpretation, and everyone has their own. Don't fight about it, it's never really worth it. Have a wonderful day everyone. Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. ~Victor Hugo |
Lynyrd Skynyrd – Free Bird Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Again, saw this song live. It was AMAZING. They went off stage, as to say "we're not playing FreeBird" and the entire crowd started screaming and pounding on the seats. Finally, Billy came out and played a 10 minute piano solo that lead into FreeBird. It was amazing, then Johnny, Gary. and the rest of the band came out and played a 20 minute version of the song. I just can't say enough about it. Fly on proud bird, you're free at last |
Lynyrd Skynyrd – Tuesday's Gone Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This was dubbed my song by my best friend. He got me addicted to Skynyrd a few years ago, and we went to see them last summer. They played Tuesday's Gone and I cried through the whole song because I was so impressed, and I got to see Skynyrd with my two best friends (they're brother and sister). I won't ever forget the moment the band started to play my song. It was the most amazing thing ever. I guess you can see where I got my screen name. Anyway, if you've never listened to this song, I suggest you should. It's amazing, and beautiful. |
The Beatles – Julia Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Oops, didn't mean when Julia was 16, she died when John was 16. Sorry folks! |
The Beatles – Julia Lyrics | 22 years ago |
John's mother Julia died when he was 16. She was hit by a car and died almost suddenly. I believe this song is about his longing to see his mother again, and how he regrets not being able to know her. John grew up with his Aunt Mimi, who was Julia's sister. This song is on "The Beatles" or "The White Album" which is what most people refer to it as. Anyway, that's about all I have to say. Oh yeah, this song rocks...and John Lennon is the greatest singer/songwriter who has ever lived. The Beatles Forever |
The Beatles – Hey Jude Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Paul always thought the line, "the movement you need is on your shoulder" was rather corny. The first time he played it for John he said "Don't worry, I'll change that line" and John replied "Don't, it's the best line in the song." Paul often refers to this song in interviews and says that this song, and line in particular reminds him of John. |
Sarah McLachlan – Hold On Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Lately, I've been going through somewhat of a personal hell. I feel like I'm distant from all of my friends and things aren't ever going to be the same again. I feel like this song is telling me to remember to be myself although I'm going through so much pain. |
