Porcupine Tree – It Will Rain For A Million Years Lyrics | 11 years ago |
There's something absolutely amazing about this song. It is artistic in a very mystical sounding way. Each bang of bass in the background is like a crash of thunder, and each drum beat a pang of rain on the surface of the earth. Primal, yet mystical, as the vocals ring through in a tone that expresses a sort of distant view of the earth. Space traveler asside, it seems like someone looking at the earth as a whole. I believe the first bit of lyrics is from the point of view of someone looking at the world from a re-imagined perspective, having locked themselves inside the confounds of society, and realizing that they never really knew where they were in life. Epiphany, even. Or, and I usually hate to be one of these people, it could be about drugs. The second half sounds very LSD-y. |
Chase and Status – Blind Faith Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I believe it's a general thing. Life. Life is cruel, it's tough, and makes you heavy-hearted and often jaded, but the sweet sensation that music brings can ease your mind like the snap of a finger. |
BT – The Emergency Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Good things are well worth the wait... And All great things are worth fighting for... And love is no exception. I think this song is about the moment you realize that the pain is over, the waiting is done. It's beautiful. |
Pendulum – Encoder Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I would go a step further from the obvious relationship views of the song (maybe because I'm bias), but I imagine it being about coming to terms with your past and all you've shut out. I imagine the narrator talking to himself, in a sort of inner struggle. |
Pendulum – The Fountain Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Steve Wilson with Pendulum is not a combonation I saw coming, I admit, but this song it awesome. Everything Wilson touches turns to gold lol |
Pendulum – The Island, Part I (Dawn) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Pendulum definitely needs to do more House music. Damn |
Gorillaz – Superfast Jellyfish Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think mosama nailed it right on the head. This song is definitely about the music industry and the focus on quantity over quality. I find "Wrappers of many bite sizes" to be quite an amusing line, seeing as how the word itself could be taken as 'Rappers' as well. |
Gorillaz – Rhinestone Eyes Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"I'm a scary gargoyle on a tower That you made with plastic power Your rhinestone eyes are like Factories far away" As with most of the songs on this album, he uses things describing things that are 'fake', like Plastic, Rhinestones... This line is saying that his scarey, stone, jaded person was "made" by this 'fake' person (assuming a lover). This person has since past in his life, but their effect is ever-present (hence, factories) "With the paralytic dreams that we all seem to keep Drive on engines til they weep we're Future pixels in factories far away" I believe this describes our nature to cling our dreams that will never come true, while they gradually eat at us emotionally from disappointment (again, assuming love). "We're future Pixels in factories far away" describes how we live. We live for the hopes of another day, yes these hopes rarely ever come true, and lead to disappointment. "So call the mainland from the beach Our pod is now washed up in bleach the Waves are rising For this time of year" "Call the mainland from the beach" may refer to struggling to find hope, or help. "Our Pod is now washed up in bleach" is perhaps refering to an Escape Pod, further refering to a "crash landing" and the bleach washing away the past. The last two lines are obvious, I think. "And nobody knows what to do with the heat Under sunshine pylons we'll meet while Rain is falling like rhinestones from the sky" Nobody knows how to handle the the 'heat', as in problems. The second line I believe is more accurately worded "Under sunshine, Pylons will meet". Pylons a metaphor for strong support and Sunshine being a metaphor for hope, it seems to hint that the person has gotten right back up and gotten back into a relationship to keep on his two feet. The last line, with again the reference to rhinestones (fake) and rain (depression), hints that again it did not end well. "Can't see it now my heart is frozen All the birds and all that grows are Tapping at the natives in my soul" The first line seems pretty straight forward. The next two lines, perhaps signify some inner hope deep within him trying to break it's way through. "I prayed on the immovable You're clinging to the atoms and I'm Seeing the adjustment signs of change" The second line listening closely I believe should be 'Yet' instead of 'you're'. 'and I'm' seems different as well, but I can't tell what the word(s) are. Even so, I think it signifies him praying that things won't change in the situation/relationship, while clinging to his principles and seeing the changes in and around him. "And I can't see now you said (taxi?) The light is all that I can take This storm brings strange royalties, and skies" I do believe it is Taxi, refering to his current partner leaving him (hailing taxi), yet instead of being completely depressed, it has brought certain happiness (royalties) and hope (skies) (chorus) Helicopters fly over the beach Same time everyday, same routine Clear target in summer When skies are blue Perhaps signifies that he understands the flow of things, that everything will happen again and again. This and the next line seem to give the impression that although hopeful, he's rather jaded. The both also seem to give a "Calm before the storm" sense, this part being the 'calm'... It's part of the noise when winter comes It reverberates in my lungs Nature's corrupted In factories far away ... and this being the storm. The first two lines signify that he already knows what is coming, and notices the signs, the tone being pretty jaded. The last two perhaps refers that, on a bigger sceme of things, everything follows the same cycle right back to pain. TL:DR version: It's about becomming jaded. |
Gorillaz – Rhinestone Eyes Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Song needs additional pylons and cowbell but, no, really, this is one of my favorite songs on the album |
BT – Forget Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Life, Love, Pain, Beauty. In all it's about being human, I believe. The ever present struggle to hold on to the beauty in life when everything around you is crumbling down, and that love doesn't necessarily have to be towards a someone. "Let just remember Life's such a beautiful mistake It's precious and fragile Sometimes more than we can take" Pretty much sums up the entirety of the song, and my outlook on life. Jaded, yet helplessly hopeful, we grow up, people expect us to be perfect, stress increases more then we ever thought possibly in our youth, and it's very hard to hold on to the good. Just gotta keep telling yourself how beautiful life is. And yes, Kaia at the end is absolutely adorable. I grinned the widest smile I had in a long, long time when I heard that part. |
BT – Suddenly (Radio Edit) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Fell = Feel Faith = Fate All in all, it sounds like this song is about putting your past behind you, overcoming yourself, and beating all the odds to make your own fate Or, more specifically, telling someone else you love it :) |
Passion Pit – The Reeling Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I believe that this song is about feeling so overwhelmed by the realization of what life really is, and wanting someone to come 'kidnap' them, praying that there is more to life then what he has come to realize. |
Scooter – She's The Sun Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is most unlike Scooter. In fact, if I just heard the song itself I never would guess it was the same band. Especially since the lyrics make sense :P But on a serious note, this song gives incredibly powerful vibes and mental imagery. |
Pendulum – The Tempest Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Definitely about the impending doom of a loved one, and [The narrator] so sick of they're actions that they just don't care what happens to them. A very awesome song too. has a MUCH different feel then normal songs Pendulum has done. The beginning gives me a big "Tool" / "A Perfect Circle" vibe. |
Depeche Mode – I Feel Loved Lyrics | 16 years ago |

BT – Lullaby For Gaia Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I'll tell you tales you won't believe I'll tell you anyway. beautiful. |
BT – Superfabulous Lyrics | 16 years ago |
To me it almost sounds like he's talking about being famous in the electronic genre, and his views on the music itself. After all, the beat goes over and over and over and over... but yet, still something beautiful, mystical. Then again, some of the lyrics seem to make no sense at all, like 'Never gonna come back down.' |
Filter – Cancer Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think I cheesy line from 'The Matrix' Explains the entirety of this song... 'like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet' |
BT – Never Gonna Come Back Down Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I do find the story behind the song absolute genious. |
BT – Animals Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Life, broken down in to its most simplistic state Life, death, love, lust. Regardless... We are nothing but conscious animals, fated to return to the earth from which we came from. |
BT – Paris Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is ALL about lust, babe |
Covenant – Monochrome Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Modern crusaders? |
Covenant – Bullet Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Time will kill everyone eventually, but the world moves on. We are the ones who realize this, and dance the night away on the dancefloor, celebrating life in it's entirety. Amazing. |

Wumpscut – Wasted Dreams Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Wumpscut – Golgotha Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"And He Screamed Out I Had The Will But Father Left Me On The Hill Oh Christ You Are A Lunatic Oh Christ You're Just A Lunatic Go On Scream Out You Had The Will To Die For Us Upon The Hill" Whenever I hear those lines I get the same reaction... "oh, snap.". Takes balls to say something like that. |
Wumpscut – Wreath Of Barbs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"a sky harsh blue grins black" I'm gonna throw this out there and say what I heard... "A sky of blue runs black" reguardless, the lyrics are pretty straitforward when you read them. |
KMFDM – Stars & Stripes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Is is just me, or does it soung like the second to last line is "Never mind they call you VILE and thief" Not that it makes much difference.. they are both true >.> |
Röyksopp – 49 Percent Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"49 percent, 1 percent short of half, and less then half ain't really much of nothing..." Perhaps he is refering to the person he is with, being less then half devoted to him, and when you think about it, less then half isn't worth it, so he says forget it and backs out of the relationship. |
Röyksopp – Beautiful Day Without You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Ignorance is bliss. Further more, Ignorance under religious faith is still bliss. |
Kasabian – Butcher Blues Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with Hastalavictoria... I think it's "Trench war on the pavement." |
Apoptygma Berzerk – Pikachu Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Anyone who's been in love, and watch their lover when they are sleeping, can relate to what this song means. |
My Chemical Romance – House Of Wolves Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Is it just me, or did someone absolutely butcher the lyrics up there? |
Covenant – Invisible and Silent Lyrics | 17 years ago |
From the moment I heard this song, I thought of much different topic... Ceasing to beleive of a god you beleive in. but that's just my take... The last set of lyrics seems to disprove this though |
VNV Nation – Arclight Lyrics | 17 years ago |
In reguards to what this song is about, I think it's about childbirth, actually. |
The Pillows – Kizuato no Sasayaki ~ Dare mo inai PARADISE; The scar whispers ~ nobody is in paradise Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Skinny Puppy – Goneja Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Very creepy, nice song, but the lyrics given are very disorganized.... but who can really blame them XD |
Kasabian – U Boat Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I may be taking a weird curve to the meaning of this song, but it kind of sounds like a guy cheating on his wife for someone (maybe a prositute?) but the song is making it sound more like a soldier's POV... or perhaps it really is a soldiers POV like bocmaxima says, who knows, I was brainstorming lol |
Kasabian – Running Battle Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Kasabian's second CD is too dull... bring back more of THIS stuff! |
Gouryella – Walhalla (Vocals by Rachel Spier) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Please, all of you get the version of this song with no lyrics, and never watch the music video lol It'll do you some good... The lyrics are not the best but they aren't the worst either, I personally beleive that this song is the best when it's strictly without vocals. |
Blue October – Inner Glow Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I got the meaning of this right away... it's brilliant, really.... He's comparing music in general to life I'm like a storm cloud eager when to go wild Calm again I ask permission for the wrong to win Drop the bomb and get your story out and get it on In a haze, the beginning of your days Going to fall down Got to get back up, but at your own pace Get to fill your cup and find the way Out of your own maze Yeah boy... What you said now! --Basically when your young your doing you own thing, learning how everything works in life. getting knocked down, and getting up again...-- And hide the rule book throw it in the waste Look strong Like you belong... Cause you do belong Whether right or wrong... You belong --Teenage years, you don't care about rules, you just belong, wether your right or wrong.-- Cause, I'm on your side... If you fail, at least you tried To keep your aching, celebrating, Wonder making heart alive. . Yeah. And pride... Don't keep it all inside Don't keep your aching, celebrating, Wonder making heart alone... Write your own song. --if you fail at life, at least your alive, you lived through everything it threw at you. have pride, don't get down, and put it to good use.-- What ever happened to our inner glow? What ever happened to the song, the soul, the me, I used to know? What ever happened to my radio? What ever happened to my song? It is my song. -- basically, whatever happened to the person I used to be so long ago?-- So here's a preview. shove it under old/new Or call it rock, or pop, or Bach, or fuck... Goddamn! Where did we go wrong? Now there's a category for every song -- Take this how you like, I think he's saying, hey your you, even though nowadays everyone is thrown into a catagory.. emo, punk, goth, whatever.-- Yeah, we only want to sing when we want to Yeah, we only want a dream we can flaunt to Yeah, we only want to fly by the side, making love To the rhythm, be a Jeckyl and a Hyde Yeah, we only want a field we can run through Yeah, we only want a beat we can drum to Yeah, we only want to fly by the side, making love To the rhythm, be a Jeckyl and a Hyde -- We all want to go along with the crowd and be on everyones side, being a Jeckyl and a Hyde, but you have to write you own song, be your own person. -- Brilliant! |
Blue October – Into the Ocean Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Its really self explanitory what it means... everyone at one point thinks... "What if I ended it all right now? Would people really care all that much" I just thing the lines; "Let the rain of what I feel right now come down Let the rain come down". I like how he says rain instead of weight. You know exactly what he means, but its.. I don't know, weird? His voice though... damn |
VNV Nation – Holding On Lyrics | 18 years ago |
when I hear this song, it reminds me up growing up. until I got to high school, this is how I felt... alone... I was finally losing my childhood bliss in everything and was realizing I was so much different then everyone else... be it me being gay, or other things... And with all the people I have now I look upon this song and smile... and cry in happiness of what I have now. |
VNV Nation – Forsaken Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The sheer emotion that he is screaming out during this song defines the very depth of this song... again an amazing song... |
