Damn. Cut off. *snaps fingers* Anyway: "Shut up! You said it would work and it didn't. You say it all the time and you failed. Quit overexagerrating everything, emo kid!" And he's all, "But I love you! God, I hate my life without you. Please be with me. Please please please." I don't hate the song. Seriously. It's definitely my favorite song by them but I laugh when I think about it. I don't think the girl is being mean to him at all. HE fucked up and she doesn't want to deal with it anymore. It's understandable. "I admit that I have made mistakes and I swear I'll never wrong you again" So he's trying to get another chance... "you've got a lure I can't deny, but you've had your chance so say goodbye" So she does love him, like him, whatever but when you mess up so much, you can only take so much. HIS FAULT. |

It's not to be afraid, I feel. This especially matters to me right now because I'm about to graduate high school soon and I'm scared about not knowing what I'm going to do with my life. But I agree that it's a positive outlook. Don't worry about where to go right away. Think about it because there's a whole world out there yet and you still have time to see it. So you've lost a few seconds to think about it. You have so many more to go and do it. :3 But, then again, there's always that fear. One day you're 18 then you turn around and you're 38. I would say, once again, it's telling you not to be afraid of that. Just live. |

This song literally sent chills down my spine when I heard it. I've seen this song in a few different ways, all specific situations, so I'll generalize it as much as possible. I'd have to go with war. Not necessarily your typical idea of war, the one with guns and soldiers and whatnot, but I also as personal battles. This could be a personal battle with drugs or maybe even something like spousal abuse. When I heard "The thought that God has taken sides", however, it made that idea more clear to me, especially with inner battles. Sometimes one feels like God just abandoned them as they lay in their own remorse, trying to save themselves. God took the side of giving up on them. But the song is sung so fiercely. It really surprised me. ^^; |
