Rilo Kiley – Jenny, You're Barely Alive Lyrics | 15 years ago |
years later, pathetic was the word i was looking for instead of lame. |
Wilco – She's A Jar Lyrics | 15 years ago |
well i have a thought, here it goes the whole daddys payday bit alright well her father could provide her with all the material things she needed, but never an emotional father figure so she's never really had a postive male figure in her life therefore she has trouble trusting people and is damaged goods or whatevs and then i dont really know what this has to do with everything else just a conjecture |

i would have to disagree because i really dont think this song is about and eating disorder. my interpretation is that its about apathy and feeling indifferent. especially: "You're desperate in finding something else to please you You've been searching your whole life Something to mute, change, or just distract you Something to put inside you to give the illusion of life" this makes me think of like using drugs, alcohol etc. to imitate some sort of emotion within yourself. in saying "barely alive" i think it means that the only thing living is physical and you're experience little emotion in order to create some sort of feeling you distract yourself with "something to put inside you". and as for "The metal rods you put in your fucking jaw To keep you from grinding your teeth every night" i really have no idea. but i'm willing to take a stab at it. i'm guessing maybe its about the lameness of such inability to control yourself in which you feel so indifferent you unintentionally hurt yourself while sleeping. i cant think of the right word, because lame doesnt really fit, but i think she screams it because its so lame and saddening that someone's needs medical "metal rods" in order to just keep themself from hurting themself. well i may be way off the mark but whatever. |

"In the past talkin' present tense" kind of reminds me of "here it comes". just a thought. |
Neutral Milk Hotel – Worms in the Wind Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Neutral Milk Hotel – Two-Headed Boy Pt. 2 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
not to be stuck on the whole idea that this song relates to anne frank, but i read her diary like i have no idea how long ago and the line "I'm still wanting my face on your cheek" reminded me of how in the her diary anne mentioned several times about touching peter or some boys cheek. i dont remember exactly i just remember reading someting like that and relating it to this song. |
Neutral Milk Hotel – In the Aeroplane Over the Sea Lyrics | 17 years ago |
the lyrics could be applied to an eating disorder but that doesnt really seem right to me. it seems to be more about anne frank not just because anna is in the song but it makes sense because it connects to holland, 1945 and the lyrics and the overall feeling i think better connect with the idea of her than an eating disorder. |
Modest Mouse – Other People's Lives Lyrics | 17 years ago |
maybe i'm just imagining this but after : "got yourself a crazy walk said ... bowlegged walk" it sounds like "or maybe you're just damn pegg legged" or something like that. |
Modest Mouse – The Fruit That Ate Itself Lyrics | 17 years ago |
maybe this has something to do with self destruction, like the fruit eating itself. i dont know. |
Neutral Milk Hotel – Little Birds Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Fergie – London Bridge Lyrics | 18 years ago |
not knowing the meaning of "london bridge" was bothering me, so i took the liberty of looking it up on urban dictionary: "The true "London Bridge" occurs when two girls are being done doggy style, facing each other and making out while the two lucky men high five over them." i still dont get what a london bridge has to do with this song though. |
Fergie – London Bridge Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Neutral Milk Hotel – Oh Sister Lyrics | 18 years ago |
