You know, this one was puzzling me, but after logging in, I'll have to agree with the folks above. you know, it IS a fun song. I think I appreciate ths one a lot more than I did about 10 minutes ago. I always liked it, though. |

Arlo Guthrie – Darkest Hour Lyrics

Guthrie has said that this song came to him in the middle of the night, in a dream. This song is beautiful, and maybe one of his best. |

Arlo Guthrie – Alice's Restaurant Lyrics

It is a great song. I saw him do it live last year, and I am most likely going to see it again this year. there are all sorts of satirical goodies and clever tidbits in the telling of this song. Guthrie in general is a superb showman, and can tell a story like none other. If you listen to him on stage, he embodies charm. Not just for the Massacree, either, but for all things. |

Canasta – An Apology Lyrics

I really identify with this song. This is a throwback to everyone's childhood. It's hard to put into words, but each of these situations is like something similar that has happened to all of us when we were young. And no, we never do get an apology for the messed up stuff that went down back then. |

Canasta – Shadowcat Lyrics

This haunting song seems to be about a failed relationship. However, the relationship failed because religion got in the way. It appears that the woman who quoted the bible maybe wasn't the brightest bulb in the world? |

Neil Young – Like A Hurricane Lyrics

Well thank god he says CALM, because on the unplugged version, it sounds like something a lot more sexual in nature - which would make the song worse in my opinion.
I love this song. |

Wilco – Woodgrain Lyrics

This song is irony. It is irreverant, to a degree. I feel like the woodgrain represents something real, static, and natural. |

Tunng – Bullets Lyrics

To me, the song is about taking risks and not knowing the outcome. The secret is split up six ways - the answer's out there, but you have no hope of knowing it. This is a jaw-dropping song. The effects at 1:50 in the album version in the song sound like guns. My favorite line is "you leave the church and taste the air in your lungs" - it shows how sweet life can taste even when you take flack from uncertainty. |

The Happy Bullets – Sex and Valium Lyrics

This song demonstrates a wonderful ability of the Bullets to put serious situations into a unique scope. With a few short verses, you really get to know this barely-functional family. |

The Happy Bullets – A Proper Rifle Assembly Lyrics

I totally love how they sing about how to assemble a gun - accurately, as far as I know - and then go on to sing about how great life is and how we all move on from our problems. |
