Pearl Jam – Amongst the Waves Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Really positive song this - absolutely love it. Lots of stuff coming from it, love, living life, reflecting on life. Beautiful |
Pearl Jam – The End Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Are poeple getting the feeling this is the last album from Pearl Jam? This song is like, the final song a band would make, don't you think? It's moving and backed with strings, emotive and rich. 'What were all those dreams we shared those many years ago, What were all those plans we made, now left beside the road. Behind us in the road.' 'I just want to grow old.' 'I'm here, but not much longer. ' Whatever they are getting at - I LOVE this song, and LOVE this album. |
Pearl Jam – Just Breathe Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song is beautiful. The whole album, I'm getting the feeling, is like a closing for the band - anyone else agree? This song is peaceful - things are at a conclusion. 'No one knows this more than me 'cause I come clean' 'Hold me till I die Meet you on the other side' Absolutely beautiful |
The Smashing Pumpkins – Try, Try, Try Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I'm almost 100% sure it's 'Automatic doors' not 'Automatic gauze' Nevertheless, I love this song - It's another song by them which gets to how I feel at the moment. |
Blind Melon – I Wonder Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think MELONcholy has the best idea about the song - these days, at 16 everything you do is overanalysed by everyone and you can't do anything without there being consequences.. It's a time of your life when all you need is enjoyment and freedom, to express and discover, but you're locked into institutions. |
The Smashing Pumpkins – By Starlight Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Reading through the comments on this song, I noticed how so many people have different opinions on what it means and they are ALL perfectly appropriate. See, when I listen, I think of a relationship I'm in and, thankfully, all the words fall into place well, and it does make me hugely happy to thin kabout that. You people are amazing to have such a wide variety of opinions on its meaning. |
The Smashing Pumpkins – By Starlight Lyrics | 15 years ago |
You're a genius, katatonia - very nice find. I've only just found this song, and it really is a work of art. Gets to your root feelings about someone. |
Neil Young – Old Man Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think that's a brilliant interpretation. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Bob Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I agree with that, In scar tissue, was it the death of hillel or cobain that he heard on the phone? i forget now.. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Bob Lyrics | 15 years ago |
what? |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Transcending Lyrics | 15 years ago |
No - flea was playing inside with depp and some others (check the wikipedia site on phoenix) Flea then heard whilst in song, left the club, and then helped out with river and rode the ambulance with him. |
Pearl Jam – I'm Open Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Yep. I think his picking things which you've gotta say, at some point, you remember expereiencing, like the moon following you just lets you in a little more of the ethos of eddie. No tradebacks. The reality of adulthood - how nice. And then 'if he only knew now, what he knew then' Epic line - sounds so obscure, but just right. The last two lines are, kind of, galvanising, in the sense that it's such a lifeless atmosphere, but his mind is hugely active, reforming who he is into a better person, more experienced, but then i guess, burdoned with the awareness of how the world is. |
Pink – Conversations With My 13 Year Old Self Lyrics | 15 years ago |
... What exactly are you inferring? Now I'm not even a girl, but christ, you can see what the song is getting at and, for some life aint as rosy as it is for others now is it? Fucking make a constructive comment on the MEANING of the song, not what you think of 50% of humankind. |
Pearl Jam – Release Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I was learning the song, Old Man, by Neil Young on guitar last night, and then happened to realise that the notes played are exactly the same as the notes in Release, but in a different order. Both songs are about fathers. Eddie Vedder is great friends with Neil Young. I just think there is a very strong possibility that Eddie is adapting Neil's version (NOT ripping off) of his own account. |
Pearl Jam – Alive Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Eddie found out that his real dad, Ed Severson actually died before he had even met him. Peter Mueller pretended to be his father for 13ish years, i believe. the book, 5 against 1 talks about it |
Pearl Jam – Satellite Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is about a guy that Eddie knows personally, I believe, as he announced it in the concert, where he played this. Check youtube out and you'll find it. This man was unrightfully charged with a crime that has led to him being sent to death row. Whilst there, waiting, he finds a woman that he falls in love with. I needn't say more, the lyrics speak for their beautiful selves. |
