This song from Smoke and Mirrors describes somebody who is afraid of who they are, so they're acting like somebody else. "Give in, give it up, you're the only one believing in all of your lies" suggests that they've been faking for so long that nobody cares any longer, and they're now just tricking themselves. "Let me let you in" says that Wade accepts who they really are, they just need to accept it themselves, and stop "fighting the world from inside" which is the struggle they have to try and convince everybody they are something they're not. |

A bonus track from Smoke and Mirrors, this album contains a lot of reflections of relationships old and new, showing how people make the wrong decisions and things don't always work out. This song I think shows us somebody who is becoming independent, "Breakdown, all around the world is off my shoulder" says that everything around him is changing, perhaps a relationship, or friendships. "You say a hard rain's gonna fall, but I'm not afraid" This suggests somebody has strong opinions that he isn't capable of what he wants to do, or that there's going to be a lot of hardship ahead, but either way, he's going to do what he needs to. "In the space where we are now, everything is clear" He is happy with somebody, and as long as he has his connection with them, everything else doesn't matter. "Don't wake me when it's over now" is the part where he sounds afraid, or disinterested. As if somebody might be dying, or leaving, or something is going to change, which he doesn't want to acknowledge, or perhaps he no longer cares for what this person is saying, so he's saying. "Leave me alone, I don't want to deal with your problems now" |

This one has a pretty obvious meaning, the chorus hardly needs translating: "And if you're not moving on You can have the past I'll keep the change" They broke up, and he's getting on with his life, while she's still in love with him, so he's saying. "Fair enough, you can want it all you like... but I've moved on, and I'm better off without you" "Follow the pieces of my heart back to the place where you are To remind myself of how far I've come And I emptied all these tears that I saved up in a jar Until these memories got dried up by the sun " This is looking back at all his memories of the relationship, and how he has grown since they broke up. The last lines are probably reflection of all of the good and bad times, and the realisation that he's a lot happier without her. |

It starts "Find me here, and speak to me" And this song is called Everything on No Name Face and on Smoke and Mirrors, but there was a version pre-no name face called Beautiful, which probably explains the confusion. Obviously a very beautiful song, whether you think it's about Jesus, or just the girl/guy of your dreams. When you're with this person, nothing could be better, and you can't help but be moved by them... |

| I agree with AznTiger, "new clown" is suggestive of overdone make-up which plastic girls do, she's the old clown, and now she's not one of the crowd anymore. "hanging on the edge of tomorrow" makes me think that she's living for the reasons, and waiting on something that's never going to happen, but she can't see another way. It's not just love, it's like her whole personality, that's what I'm feeling from it... | |

I think you're right about those two lines, I hear it that way too, and it definitely makes more sense to have films, not books, as you've pointed out and also because in books we don't see backlit villains as such, we usually have them shrouded in a different sort of darkness. Perhaps Pip has a John Cusack mancrush? ;D |
