This may be way off....but read through some of the lyrics about cutting the guys smile and this and that..and just the whole gay theme...doesn't this song seem to have some small connection to the movie Hannibal...when he gives the guy the drug and then tells him to cut his face with the mirror.. and during the whole thing they're being really homosexual and whatever... i dont know but it kind of rang a bell. |

i tend to lean towards the meanings that all of you expressed about a guy liking a girl and such but then...they are a semi-religious group and the references to wasting the "light" and talking about two times doing something-- maybe at two points in his life he had felt very close to God or needed his help and promised he'd follow him...and thus when he talks about the "thin line" he means his faith.. only dedicating himself to god/jesus when things get tough... i'm not sure, i'm not religious, and i don't know the guy.. |

Easily my favorite song on the cd, has been since day one. Anyways, i share the basic beliefs of everyone else on this song but my take on it might be that it concerns homocide prisoners that are religiously reborn and then some way or another make it back out into the civilian world. "Atrocious stories"hits me harder than simply a drug user or dealer, it makes me think of a killer or a rapist. Wonderful song, APC really came through on the second album. |
