This song brings me to tears every time I hear it. I almost have to laugh, because my boyfriend thought all of Blue October was really depressing, but I convinced him to get Approaching Normal. He loved it so much, then he got to this song, and called me up, saying that it literally brought him to his knees and made him cry like he's never cried before. I love music like this, that actually triggers an emotional response on such a strong level. |

We listened to this song yesterday in Rock n Roll history class. A girl, who also said The Beatles changed hiphop, said "Why are we listening to this? Its stupid, its just old music." Just like with The Beatles comment, the whole room went silent. Finally, I said, "That is the point. This class is about the history of music, not Christina Aguilera singing about getting rubbed." I didn't have time to tell her to withdraw and fail, for our sake. But I have a feeling that there will be many oppritunities to come. |
