If you cannot see the brilliance in the lyrics, I am sorry. The ripple effect of negative parenting and reinforcement produces long term deviant outcomes. Also the second verse is, to me, a reference of sexual abuse, again leading to further deviancy and deliquency. The dreams are manifestation of rape and molestation and the the tide running down his leg is him urinating the bed (indicator of abuse). I'm sorry if you refer to thsi song as a fun song to listen to with your friends. It is much more than than. It is awareness with a catchy hook. |

I believe the first three "men" listed are in ascending order of dimensional complexity. The point, the plane and the time/space omniverse. Person man cannot see beyond himself, living his life in confined area that seeks no positive inputs only negative waste. The question, "who came up with person man?" is made not by the narrator, but by the person itself. This is why it is hated. Just like the particle asking about its relevance to other things. The question is inherently juvenile. These things are what they are. Universe man knows his place. Traingle man knows what he is. The better question for person man is how do I be? |

Actually, I would disagree with my pill popping friend. Mike has had a long bout with heroin, which he has given up in the past years. Although "Rolling" would be an obvious give away to the X, "Bottle it up to keep it warm" and "Get a tight tension on" are more of the heroin culture. Both drugs are similar in their euphoric conjurings, but I would say, like most of Dougty's songs, this one is about the Horse. ~Jason |
