Downloaded this song by accident.. and it's pretty good. After reading the lyrics, it kiind of reminds me of someone laying in a hospital bed, hooked up to various machines, just being lonely. It reminds me of when I was in the hospital a few times, anyhow. |

This song just seems to capture the innocence behind a highschool romance. I don't even know if that's what it's about, but that's the feeling I get from it. To me, the guy has realized the girl has changed, and he wants out.. they just kept growing farther apart and he needed to end it. I like how this song is so much different from all the other tracks on the album. It's probably my favourite (besides Passenger) on the album. |

I am surprised by how many people say they don't really like this song. I think it's fantastic.
To me, it's about a mental patient falling in love with one of the nurses. The meaning to me is almost obvious. It's not neccessarily about drug addiction, perhaps. Of course the person whose point of view this is in is on heavy medication because of whatever mental illness(es) he suffers from, but it's not neccessarily all focused on drugs. |

This is one awesome fucking song.. puts you in quite the melancholy mood. My own little interpretation to the song is as follows: a younger man reflecting upon his hardships, and although they may be fewer than a man twice his age, he feels as though he hurts just as much as the older man. |

Definitely my favourite song by Led Zeppelin. The guitar is amazing and just hits me in such a way that I almost fall to my knees each time I hear it. The lyrics are so beautiful. Plant has basically said what the song is about, as stated a few comments above me.. a girl he was with said it was either her or the music, and he picked the music. I get the feeling that he's looking back on the relationship, remembering what she does in fact mean to him. Personally, it reminds me of my nephew who was killed a year and a half ago.. especially the somber guitar riff. It reminds me of my dad telling me he was killed, and walking in the rain for a few hours in a complete daze, trying desperately to convince myself that he wasn't dead. |
