The first few times I saw Ben, he was opening for someone else, and I was one of the only people in the club who knew he was. Seeing people who know nothing about Ben Kweller watch him perform for the first time is hilarious. Especially when he opens with this song, and the whole crowd is abuzz with "huh? what the hell is this kid doing? ...vanilla ice?!" Heh. The fact that he covers Vanilla Ice with only an acoustic guitar makes him my hero. ;P |

This is a lovely but depressing song. I can completely relate to the theme, though...you desperately want to be in touch with someone who doesn't seem to care to be in touch with you, and is out there living it up while you sit at home wishing they'd call. Siiiiiiigh. |

what a sweet song. pretty self explantory...a guy's girlfriend is going away to college, and he's not sure what he's going to do without her around all the time. he kind of feels like he took her for granted all the time they were together, and he never realised just how much she meant to him.

at first, i didn't really like this song. i saw it live in july, and i just did not like it. but after seeing it again in november, and hearing it over and over again whilst i listened to my ep, it's become my favourite song on the ep overall. the last verse is just so indescribable. i don't know, i just connect so much with this song. it's crazy. i can't wait to see it live again. |

this song is just so great, both lyrically and melodically. his musical style really seems to be maturing, as is evidenced by this and the other songs on the new ep. it's amazing live, too. i can't wait for chris to come back here so that i can sing along this time. |
